Join the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association   During the Fiesta de las Golondrinas (Festival of the Swallows), the Fiesta Association presents a variety of events to the community which include: the Taste of San Juan, Kids’ Pet Parade, Presidenté Ball, Fiesta Grande, Hoosegow Day (shooting up the town and arresting those who just look like they need it), and of course the Swallows Day Parade and the Mercado. To present these events the Fiesta Association needs all kinds of help – from organizing and staffing the events leading up to the Parade, to to the presentation of our biggest event, the Swallows Day Parade. On parade day, we have 250 -300 volunteers helping with traffic control, parade line-up and staging, as well as the Swallows Day Mercado (an open air market place held on parade day). Required Dress Includes: White shirt, black pants or skirt, black vest and black felt hat. Dress should be as a cowpuncher between 1850-1900.
